MPD Psycho chapter 82
Hi!
I'm right after reading your release of chapter 82 (thanks for the great work!).
But I must admit that in translation of one of the balloons the text looks a bit unclear...
Probably due to the Japanese not using inventions such as punctuation in raws.
On page 4 in the upper right corner there is:
'I've already prepared the next stage for the "previous experiment"'.
Especially the part about the mysterious "previous experiment" in quotes sounds a bit vague...
In the original there is:
以前から進めていた実験が実用段階に入れる準備ができた よ
If you add some 'virtual' periods (not included in the raw) you get:
以前から進めていた。
実験が実用段階に入れる。
準備ができたのよ。
Which translates as:
'We've made much progress since before.
The experiment can now enter its practical stages.
The preparations are all done.'
Makes a bit more sense to me^^
I hope this post won't be interpreted as a sort of whining, it just caught my attention because I translated part of the chapters earlier for myself (couldn't wait anymore xD) so I thought about discussing the details because reading MPD scanlations can be a bit confusing sometimes...
Keep up the great work:)
PS. I'm still on the lookout for the V13 raws for you;) I think we'll have to wait for them until the tankoubon (full-volume) version gets released though...
PS2. Ah, I see it actually got released a month ago xD

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
@quantum: why not try to be a translator here? We can be DUO Qua for mD-xD, hehehe...
and about the translation, you are more precise than me and yeah, I knew I make a mistake and missed it, maybe it's because of my lack of understanding Japanese language but there is consideration by me that it's too long to be translated literally so I try to translate it as short as I can but again it's because of my lack in English so it's sounds a little bit vague. But thanks for the correction you made.
and how about the Dual-Q Team? or maybe DQ Team (Dragon Quest!?) hehehe...
Aku... Soku... Zan!!!

Well, considering all the people I know who are dying for new chapters, someone does
Did you already mastered japanese? xD
Hm, tbh more like 'basic'd' it xD

LOLing
As for the translator job, I'd love to, though I'm still learning the language and there is still a lot that I don't understand yet^^ (for example Zenitsu talk to Inuhiko in the beginning of volume 12 or some anachronic expressions of Shimizu).
I can't guarantee full validity of my translations, too.
But If I could be your assistant translator in the Ultimate Q-Duo or QUA-D Damage Team, that would work nice to omotteru
I must also admit that last year I've made drastic progress withe the language (I hope it doesn't get slowed down due to my this year's MA thesis, but knowing me it won't, kekeke)
So... unleashing the power of Dual-Q seems mostly interesting to me.

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
@quantum Will you really join us as a translator? Will you please? It will get mpd going much faster than it is. \o/ I've been trying to pick up japanese myself, conversation though, reading will definitely kill me, but to no avail. xD
And good luck for master thesis! What's your thesis on? *curious

Yay^^ That would be great.
But to make things clear, I'm not yet skilled enough to translate everything on my own, I need to cooperate with Quatreyes
Here's my vision of the job:
I translate what I understand, and ask Quatreyes about what I don't (and learn in the process, so the amount of such things will decrease gradually ;p)
And I discuss with him various things, if need be.
I think it should work out nice^^ I hope it'd be okay for you, too.

Wrong ;] If you have love for kanji, mastering them is a matter of time, the beginning is a bit hard though. But the more of them you know, the smoother it goes with learning new ones, so you defently shouldn't get discouraged at the beginning^^
And if you can master kanji, you can master everything.
Ganbatte ne!
And good luck for master thesis! What's your thesis on? *curious
Well, tbh I was theoretically supposed to write it last year, but I didn't xD (partially because I preferred to spend that time learning japanese, among other things)
I haven't yet decided for the topic of the new thesis (I had one last year, but this time I did a full reset and I'm beggining from scratch), but I will in the next couple of days.
Since my major is video game and simulation technology, and considering my love for japanese gear, it may be something about Playstation 2 (I would prefer the third one (PS3), but the devkits for it are very hard to get. I'll try to get my hands on one but the chance is slim). If not, maybe techniques of real-time water rendering, or simulation of fluid mechanics. Or methods of character animation in video games. The previous thesis was a 3D graphics rendering engine, but I want something more specialized ;d
I hope I didn't flood you with technical crap >___>

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
Yeh I'm cool with that, any help is great help! I'll leave you and quat to sort things out though. ^^
I don't know if i have any love for kanji though, I flunked at Chinese so it will probably take me a long while to absorb any kanji. xD
Wow, *laughs that's pretty tough eh, considering that I don't even know what a devkit is. I'll be a lil' interested in simulation of fluid mechanics. I tried using CFD visualisation part of IES (integrated environmental solutions) once, to do a wind tunnel test for a building model and its totally mind bogging!! ><" Not for the non-programmers. xD I always wished that I had more programming knowledge to get more out of those promising softwares. Good luck though!
Neh don't worry, I was the one who asked. xD

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
That's great Let's get it started asap.
So, now I'm supposed to write in the translators application thread to get some test pages?
You learning Chinese? >___> Respect, but well I suppose that could be good enough reason to hate kanji till the end of life xD But maybe if you know some chinese kanji, it could be easier to learn the japanese versions? I dunno, /me knows almost nothing about Chinese ;d
From what I heard, it's almost impossible to learn for someone from Europe, who has no contact with this language in everyday life.
Good luck though!
Thank you As for devkit, it is a developer kit, a kit that allows for programming a console (in this case).
I tried using CFD visualisation part of IES (integrated environmental solutions) once, to do a wind tunnel test for a building model and its totally mind bogging!! ><"
Sounds like it ;d

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
Well, I would allow you to skip the test pages xD, unless the other admins think otherwise but I shouldn't think so. ^^ Got to let quat get back onto track before anything happens though.
Actually Chinese is my mother tongue, of which I flunk and hardly use but still a mother tongue, so shame to me. :S I guess if I make myself do it together with a kanji dictionary (I have one with 10 inch of dust atop), I might make it. xD
Hm.. now, any advise for getting a psp? Wanting to get one, but I don't know what does the different versions mean, other than price differences.

RE: MPD Psycho chapter 82
Well, good luck:P
Flunking of your mother tongue is nothing extraordinary, you have to know loads of extremely boring literature and stuff to pass it (in my case at least). Thanks gods that I didn't have to write any Polish exams since ages ago ;p
But I'm happy today because I've passed last year's JLPT3 japanese exam (it took them until yesterday to send me the results).
As for the PSP...
I don't have one, but as far as I know, the newest version is the PSP 3000. It has some design improvements but from what I heard, the display shows scanlines, so some people may want to stick with the older, 2000 version.
The new version also doesn't allow to play homebrew software or backups.
If you want more detailed info, the wikipedia covers it pretty well^^

Update:
I talked with a friend yesterday, who has the latest 3000 version, and he's very happy with it, and the display works very nicely according to him.
