The thing is, I can't be that excited about the 'holidays' because they won't be like real holidays. They will be two weeks of study, just holidays in name only. Basically because I have trials in the third week back, leaving me with 4.5 weeks to revise a whole year's course for 6 subjects...Hmmm fun fun fun.
I think the only interesting thing I've planned so far is going to watch Dead Caesar, a play which has two guys from the Chasers in it, and my excuse is that it's related to my topic in history hehehe.
But! I have plenty of plans for after the HSC

I think having a few skeletons (in mdxd's closet) is amusing~ Hitsu-tan doesn't have that many though I don't think. Perhaps many of us just hate the idea of growing old? I sure hate to be an ancient fossil... and wrinkles!
But the fountain of youth is but a dream as of now, so I guess I'll have to get used to growing old gracefully. I don't mind grey hairs though.

My stray grey hair is very well hidden and when people do notice it, they always want to pull it (ToT) I don't want to have 5 replacements! I just don't want to look like those shar-pei dogs (those wrinkly ones) or have panda eyes. Actually, panda eyes arn't too bad.
I guess I'm lucky that I still look younger than my younger sister - for that I'm happy. I probably can swindle for child tickets, but honest nature says otherwise (T.T)

I love all of her other works just not that one...the plot, the characters, everything was just...arghhh, frustrating indeed. @elmo: Not the December papers (thank God!), but I do have a resit paper in January - Ancient Greek pots and architecture (how exciting!) - so at the moment I'm trying to memorise the painters and dates of about 100 pots...It's my own fault though, I should have done better last year
My A2 exams are in May/June - scary enough, really!I'll try to be in IRC more, it's just that a lot of people are normally around when I am now (because of school - I only just got home today at 5:30pm because of my Japanese classes) - stupid time difference

(There's about a hundred or so for medicine - poor people having to choose out of those!) I've made my choices, and got two offers so far (fingers crossed for more - or even just an interview at Oxford), just got to sit the exams - the worst part! And I'm one of the youngest in the year, so I'll only just be 18 when I go to uni - such a child

Hmmm...for me, having so many girls here is a lot different from what I'd expect - mainly because there are about three people in my year group who like manga or anime - and one of them is me, another a close friend. It's just not very popular in my school - same with video games (seriously, the shock on my friends faces when I say that I'm saving up for a video game and not founation XD) - I think it must be something with British culture - my mum can't understand my love of it either

I had to send off my application in October, so I'm just waiting for offers (which is boring - I don't like waiting). I don't like the fact that I have to apply before doing my exams - it means that the unis might have high expectations of me, and I might let them down with the results...but I must remain positive and work hard XD I have to accept my unis online by March and then just try to get the grades... Most people are still 18 when they start uni, but nearing their 19th birthdays - when I start, I'll only be about 4 weeks into being 18 ^^ But that's just because I started school earlier than my friends - they were all almost five and I was just four (and a lot cuter and more innocent!)

I guess it is wierd now that I think about it. Not too many people really liked anime and manga in my year at school and most who are into it are well... Asians (including myself). Many in Australia would only know the dubbed stuff and leave it at that (I blame dubs for ruining the reputation). Not many "true otaku" here in Australia.... But plenty in Indo.
Might just be the environment and stuff. Who knows?

Unfortunately for me, there are no manga/anime lovers amongst my closer group of friends. T__T I'm quite the odd one liking manga, anywhere I go... which is maybe why I'm active here and in mD. ^^ Not all Asians are fond of manga really, especially not so when one is in Asian xD
I can never quite get the logic of choosing a school before the grades are out. I always thought that it'll be wiser for it to be the other way round... So that one will not make an inappropriate choice.

MMM... strangelly all my friends (or almost everyone) I have do like to watch anime and (up to some point) read manga... But all of those are males... this makes me remenber something I heard... Otakus males actually want to know and form a relationship with otakus females... now... the inverse does not applies... meaning females does not want to form relationships with their same kind XDD

I don't really like talking about manga for too long... I don't know much about manga and anime anyway. in Indonesia almost everyone likes to read manga, but some are more into it than others. The boys school is across the road, but we're not meant to socialise much. Plus the boys my age there are really immature. Seriously.....And our headteacher parades around outside school to prevent kissing. I wish I was joking, but she actually physically breaks couples apart. So they move aaround the corner ^^ I don't really socialise with the boys, unless it's with the boyfriends of friends - and they're normally pretty wierd too I only have one friend who likes anime and manga - she prefers shounen, while I still like shoujo and josei (wierd, because I prefer action films over soppy romances XD). We do agree on liking shounen-ai though XD (she introduced me - I used to be so innocent
)When I think of Western otakus, I always think of Star Trek fans XD That's a big stereotype, I know, but that's always what comes to mind!

It just depends on the use of the words I guess. Perhaps it's because Western cultures seem to be somewhat more open with other's preferences. Asian countries sometime shun different behaviours form the "normal". What is "normal"? Who knows...

Fairytale endings are nice in films and manga - but I bet they end up the same as normal endings evenutally. That's why the fairytales finish as soon as the couple gets married - they don't want to show the arguments XD (I'm such a cynic)

I just hope crowds don't become a problem for me at work during Christmas - a fellow employee said "it's like all the crazy people have been let out of the loony house". Another one said "Christmas in retail starts in October", so I guess in a way I've already celebrated it.
I'm on a standstill... I'm not sure I want to continue on my path to become a game graphics designer.... I'm now more inclined to become the first person to create a maid cafe in Australia (>_<) I'm not sure of my life now...
I guess I'll have to see what happens next year?
As for resolutions, I guess it's to pay debts to my parents and be less of a procrastinator.

New Years Resolutions:
1) Study. The studying doesn't do itself, no matter how much I yell at it. Lazy textbooks and such. Must do this, so that I can actually get into uni.
2) Lose weight. This is a definite must.....I can't put a level on it though, because that makes it too hard XD
3) Do some drawing. You have a DA account, use it! I won't be able to improve unless I practice...(meh, I'll still end up as bad as I am now anyways, but it's fun to dream XD)
4) Try to shake off my wierd obsession with fictional characters - I must learn that no matter how much I want it, Bad Luck will never be a real band and guys will not turn into animals when I hug them. Also, sky pirates don't exist outside of Final Fantasy games (and even if they did, they wouldn't be as chivalrous as Balthier XD)
Wow. I'll be amazed if I can achieve any of that. But it's good to have goals XD

Okay keropi, I just checked and I won't be able to collect it, because I'm still only 17! Age discrimination! It says 18 on the website unless it's otherwise specified, but it's normally 18 to claim, and you have to provide proof/ID so they can validate your age. Have you got anyone else who can claim for you? It would be awful if they disqualified a winning ticket due to my age (plus I'd feel realy bad for you, and could probably never show my face here again XD)...

@Keropi: My parents.....meh. They don't really go in for scratchcards - they prefer to do charity raffles and things like that. My mum always supports the children with leukaemia christmas raffle, and I think we won a few hundred pounds once - a while ago.
The other thing is, with the post still being slow and the Christmas rush, I don't think the scratchcard would arrive on time....we've been having postal strikes, so the delivery system is still overwhelmed with backdated post.

Being a spice girl was a very embarrassing moment in my life, and all of you want to see pictures of that?? I'm so shocked XD (when I get pictures, I'll put them up for all of you blood-hungry people
) The show was okay - an energetic dance to 'Spice up your life' - the song that will haunt me for the rest of my days, I'm sure. I was never really 'into' the Spice girls, even though it's a part of my childhood, and all of my friends were. They were too girly for someone like me XD But the songs are making a big comeback with their re-grouping, as well as all of my friends' 18th birthday parties - nostalgia! And speaking of dressing up, I'm going to a party tonight as a cowboy - life is never dull here XD (which means that I should be getting ready right now o.O)
@kero: But the Roxas plushie is cute, right? All that matters XD I wanted a plushie of Ryuichi from Gravitation dressed in a kumagoro outfit which was very cute, but my friend thought that my obsession was too much T.T So she got me a Balthier model instead - the logic just doesn't seem to work there somehow.... Do you get scratchcards with your newspapers sometimes? Or is that just a very wierd English thing? (We get them with the Saturday paper sometimes - they last the whole week and every day there's a chance of winning either money or a prize....)

It's been ages since I heard a Spice Girl song... I think the most recent encounter would be the Victoria's Secret 2007 show in which was their "first regroup performance" on TV (I always enjoyed looking at designer fashion shows - so many interesting innovations. I think my sister has a feather fetish after watching it though.... (">.>))
@Soxi: We have to pay for our scratchies unfortunately. They should stop calling the $1 scratchie a $1 scratchie when they cost $1.50. Roxas is cute indeed, I plan to buy Sora. Problem is I have nowhere good to put them, so right now poor Roxas is under my table... along with many other valuables (such as chocolate stash and my other soft toys)

Haha! Me as a party girl! I'm not popular, pretty or skinny enough, but thanks elmo-chan! Nah, it's just that a lot of people who would normally shun parties are having them for their 18ths, so there's a lot more to go to - I have to decide if I want one (even though I have to wait until August...)
I quite like fashion shows, even if they are populated by stick skinny girls xD The designs are always unique and exotic. That's why I like watching Project Runway (and the UK version, Project Catwalk). I like seeing what all of the designers do when they're given a challenge - see if any of their creations fit what I would have done - although drawing is my strong point, I can't sew at all xD
We normally have to pay for scratchies, unless they're promotional like in papers/giveaways etc. Aww, plushie Sora is so cute! I have a soft spot for plushies, but my dad won't let me get any xD He says I have too many stuffed toys - I keep telling him that they're links to my childhood, but for some reason he never buys it xD I am going to get the Ryuichi one - I'll just have to hide it under my bed.......along with all of my other stuff that has to be hidden......(and now I have visions of Roxas crowded under a table with a heap of chocolate - a chocolate prison, if you will

During the fireworks display on TV, some friends were commenting on the money blown on purchasing and the planning of the display. We kind of agreed that fireworks arn't that neccessary to celebrate the new year and the money used would've perhaps solve the problem of hospital beds in Australia....
Maybe Rudd will solve the problem, but I have doubts since they were planning to filter stuffs on the net in Australia - no porn allowed (or something illegal they say). A lot of people will be frustrated (mostly pervs)
The "party season" in Australia is only half-finished and there is only 1 more celebration to go - Australia Day. I wonder what's going to happen during this day.
How's everyone's celebrations go? No hang-overs I hope. (^_^)

party season in Mexico ends Monday cause thats when all the little kids have to go back to school this being the reason why tomorrow, Sunday will be on of the days with the worse traffic jams in history. thank goodness I don't have a car.
lucky for me we I don't have to go back to school until the 21ist I believe (Mexican public schools rock!) I hope everybody else had a decent vacation period ( its too late to say decent holidays its the 6th)

i went to see the fireworks, which was quite nice. didnt quite get what the sydney harbour bridge symbol was...four leaf clover? but yeah i suppose it is a waste of money. a lot of govt money is wasted on unneccessary things i think... >_>

I didn't get drunk, so no hangover - being underage does have some advantages, I guess XD I'm so jealous of you all - I've been back at school for three days now, which has already been enough time to get seriously stressed at one teacher and to almost have a nervous breakdown over some coursework. This term is definitely going to be eventful....but maybe not in a good way. On a plus note, our leaver's prom is being organised. Minus note - I have to wear a dress. And I'm not a dressy person. Plus, I need to find someone to go with me.....but that's not gonna happen
We (a group of friends) did have a plan to hire male escorts, but we're not too sure about the ethics of that plan XD

we didn't bring anyone though, doubt any guy would dress up to match us, but hiring!! ah well too late now.i get long holidays now because its the summer hols

Yeah - it's true that with a male escort he'd be happier to help you with things and be more of a gentleman (then he might get a tip XD) - and looking at some of the guys at their school (it's across the road from our girls one) they seem more like 10 than 18. But it would be quite wierd introducing the escort to your parents....We'll probably just all go in a group together - we'll have more fun that way -gossiping and joking about people we never have to see again XD. Proms here are just stolen from America - posh dresses, at least one slow, romantic dance (when I'll sit down and laugh at some friends ^^) and always something bitchy happening (like a boyfriend being stolen or someone saying something that they never had the guts to say while they were still at the school). It's not really something I'd go to, but my friends have press-ganged me into going XD They want to see me in a dress, looking 'pretty' (which will never happen. I'll wear a dress, but it will be blatently obvious that I'd rather be in jeans XD).
But before the prom I have my exams :S Someone at the exam office thought it would be a good idea to schedule one on Friday 13th June...o.O

At the moment I'm hoping to at least chase after an ambition, if I don't get into the TAFE course, I'm definately going to try to start a maid cafe (with some difference). I hope it'd be a mix of host club (Ouran style without the money?) and a place where otaku and "normal" people can enjoy.

wow, actually, i have a friend in england who told me her proms are like that...maybe its just my area that is boring in comparison. there is no slow or romantic music, its usually a mix of trance/hiphop rnb/some pop, and usually no bitchiness...i think.
hehe i was so tempted to wear a tux to the formal (saves me worrying about finding a dress) then i could be the gentleman to match my friends costume dresses...but didnt in the end...

My yr 12 formal was ok. Food was good and nobody wore the same dress as me. I had to stay away from the dancing hall though because it was too loud for me, I was dateless and have 2 "left feet". I took many shots instead of people I would probably never meet until someone whips up a reunion. I'm pretty sure the music was loud enough to cause some people to be deaf. (">.>)
I made it into the TAFE course (^_^)! I wonder where this will take me - hopefully to where I want to be. Wish me luck this year! (^o^)
Unfortunately my Maid Cafe fallback plan won't be active until I either decide to quit from computer graphics or make it a side business. And I was picturing what the maid uniforms would look like.
I hope -bel-, soxi and everyone striving for further education get into the course they want to as well.

yea same here. but when u have loud friends who like to sing along (bring such friends with you) your voice gets swamped anyway (don't sing solo, unless you really want to), plus the room is dark so no one can really see you, unless you decide to get up and sing. to solve that, go in a large group so nobody can be bothered to continually shift seats to get up at the front and sing.
but essentially, get into it and it becomes fun

ive already read the english version till chapter 80
but then for some reason they stopped continuing the english version of storm riders
and i was like NOOOOOOO WTF am i gonna do
learning chinese is too hard, so my last hope was a scanlation group and then i found you guys
i hope you will continue translating storm riders im gonna wait patiently till you guys reach new chapters i havent read
just btw its the best comic i have ever seen
it just keeps getting better with every chapter you read

The reason that there are not too many HK comic scanlation out there is because is demand is low. HK comic has only one genre anyways and it doesn't appeal to the mass public. ^^
